Director: Kerry Adams CA
Kerry is the proud and passionate owner of DAA and joined the firm in 1996 after earning a degree in Commerce and Management from Lincoln University. Kerry is known for his straight to the point advice and for challenging clients to achieve their true potential. Kerry has an outstanding knowledge of the NZ tax system and specialises in TriTec Diamond, Rural Accounting, Bloodstock accounting, Trust development and all areas of financial reporting. Kerry is a devoted Canterbury & Crusaders rugby supporter and an ardent horse racing fan who currently has shares in a syndicate of three thoroughbreds and has shared in the ownership of standardbreds. Kerry is married to Rebecca, has two wonderful boys, Cameron and Keegan and a cheeky daughter, Cushla.

Practice Manager: Mike Heydon
Mike hails from the deep south from a very small town. Mike wanting to see the world joined the Air Force and has had a range of differing jobs since. Mike comes to DAA with a wide range of experience including debt collection, working within IRD and a quality control manager of a high profile firm in Christchurch. Mike is married to Karen with all their children having flown the nest. It is not unusual to see Mike racing through town in his little red MX5 or dancing the night away with Karen, their friends and family.
Associate Director: Rachael Stewart CA
Rachael is a highly experienced Chartered Accountant who came to DAA in 2000 after previously working for some of the “Big 4″ firms. She graduated from Lincoln University in 1995 with a degree in Commerce and Management. As a direct result of her dedication and consistent excellence she was appointed Associate Director in 2010. Rachael’s expertise lies in business structural advice, financial reporting and plain english taxation advice. She enjoys motor sport, wine and animals. Rachael and her partner Shane share their home with Shylah the rottweiler, Kitler the cat, two turtles and a tropical fish tank. Their next plan is to set up a marine fish tank although they think the lounge floor might need a bit of reinforcement first as it will be a big one!

Accountant: Lisa Butler
Lisa joined DAA in April 2014 after spending the previous 8 years in various accounting roles and wanted to share her excitement of accounting with others. Lisa moved to Christchurch from Whakatane in 2007 to start studying part time and enjoys reading, computer games and time with her family. She can often be found walking around with her nose in a book or playing a game on her phone. Lisa is a member of the Christchurch medieval group and has taken up archery to participate in future battle re-enactments.
Accountant: Casey Gousmett
Casey joined DAA in January 2016 after completing a strong Bachelor of Commerce with a double major in accounting and finance from Lincoln University. Casey has a passion for farm accounting and can be often seen on farms around the Rolleston area. Casey enjoys being active outdoors and has featured in a number of club and representative teams for football, squash and water-skiing. Casey has an interest in rugby league where she is a strong, loyal and long suffering supporter of the New Zealand Warriors.
Accounting Assistant: Samantha Witt
Samantha joined DAA in November 2017 after relocating to Canterbury from Auckland. She has a very strong background in Administration having been a sole charge Office Manager for the past 11 years and is looking forward to branching out into Accounting. Samantha is a proud mum of two young children and enjoys reading, music and doing arts and crafts. Samantha and her family have recently purchased a caravan and are enjoying exploring the beautiful South Island.
Accounting Assistant: Hope Hodgetts
Hope joined DAA in November 2017. She is a busy mum of 3 and step mum of 4 (4 boys and 3 girls ranging in age from 2 to 15). Hope has approximately 12 years experience in accounting and office management and will be completing a Bachelor of Applied Management, majoring in Accounting at the end of 2018. Hope is passionate about health and fitness, she is a qualified group fitness and boxer fit instructor and has a personal goal to complete a half marathon in under 3 hours.
Director Support: Rebecca Adams
Rebecca brings exceptional organisational and support skills to the DAA Director, Kerry. Rebecca is a qualified early childhood teacher and has managed high profile pre-schools with over 100 children and co-owns a early childhood business with Kerry. Rebecca knows exactly the time and dedication it takes to manage a business and this experience is invaluable to our clients and ourselves. Rebecca is married to Kerry, has two wonderful boys, Cameron and Keegan and a gorgeous daughter, Cushla. Rebecca is an avid runner and has a goal of one day completing the Christchurch marathon.
